Well. It's a legit question.
I agree with JD, I think people make a stupid big deal out of things like this. Why didn't a black man take the stage (one could have actually, I only caught the last bit of livestreaming). I think we should be more focused on "Why didn't we see the concole last night, yet we're slated for a holiday 2013 launch?" or maybe "When's Uncharted 4 man?!" The second obviously being more important...
*infinite facepalm*WHy aren't women at the PS4 Event.Because most of them either were too busy having lives or DONT CARE.Media nowadays...I swear to God.....
The video gaming industry is a male dominated profession, much like directing Hollywood pictures, so what famous female game developer or publishing head are they going to get to speak? Jennifer Hepler? Anita? The only well known female director I can name off the top of my head is Kathryn Bigelow, I can name zero female heads as opposed to the countless males. It's not as if they chose not to let any women take the stage, there aren't any. When a female gets famous in the gaming industry, then we'll talk when she gets snubbed for a speaking spot at a famous convention.
I got it. Let's have Felicia Day or Aisha Tyler talk again. Those have been good in the past. But joking aside, most of the people that take the stage have been with the respective companies for 20,30,40+ years and equality in the workplace is a work in progress.
Your first problem is you're paying attention to Kotaku. They are owned by Gawker Media group, which is a gossip page. So Kotaku is essentially the tabloid of video game news and should be avoided as much as possible.
My big problem is the people that DON'T realize this and push Kotaku's gossip agenda. Believe me, you meet a lot of people who think like that
One Rule: Don't troll (Problem?).
